You Need to Know About Lottery for a Green Card

Although you may win the Diversity Visa Lottery, it does not guarantee that your name will be included in the fifty-five thousand people who are granted permanent residence visas every year in the United States. You must be able meet the requirements as a foreign national to be eligible for the Diversity Visa Lottery and Lottery for Green Card screenings.

The Diversity Visa Lottery is also known as the Green Card Lottery. It stipulates that certain criteria must be met before an applicant for permanent residency can be approved. The winner of the Lottery for Green Card must be able present his/her confirmation pages information after joining the Diversity Visa Lottery between October-December 2009/2010.
